Data protection statement for users of the Gender Appraisers/Consultants Pool concerning the storage and use of personal data by GIZ in the Gender Appraisers/Consultants Pool

GIZ takes the protection of personal data very seriously. We therefore wish to inform you which personal data about you are stored and what they are used for.

  • The data are sent to the relevant appraiser/consultant and are also accessible to GIZ staff members working in the sector programme on Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights.
  • The family name, first name, organisation, email address, IP number and log data (and possibly also telephone number and message) are stored by the web application Gender Appraisers/Consultants Pool when a user wishes to contact an appraiser/consultant. The web application is developed and maintained as part of the data processing commissioned from the firm Avaris & Godot; the firm HostEurope has been commissioned to provide storage and processing on servers. Furthermore, GIZ staff members working in the sector programme on Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights have access to the data. The data cannot be viewed online.
  • The controller of the data processing is GIZ (sector programme on Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights, Dag-Hammerskjöld-Weg 1-5, D-65760 Eschborn).
  • The data are used solely for the purpose of enabling contact between potential clients and appraisers/consultants.
  • Wherever we obtain the consent of the data subject to the processing of personal data, the legal basis is Article 6 paragraph 1 (a) of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • The firms Avaris & Godot and HostEurope apply suitable technical and organisational measures to secure the data against both unintentional and intentional falsification, destruction, loss and access by unauthorised persons.
  • Access to the personal data is restricted to the staff of the GIZ sector programme on Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights (Division G400), who must process these data in accordance with the above-mentioned purpose/s and handle them properly and confidentially.
  • Persons under 16 years of age should not send us any personal data without the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • The data are not forwarded to third parties.
  • We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files automatically created by your browser, which are saved on your IT system (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website.   • The web application Gender Appraisers/Consultants Pool stores the appraiser/consultant’s family name, first name, address, email address, IP number, expertise and experience, and log data.   • The GIZ staff working in the sector programme on Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights have access to the data, as do all internet users to whom the family name, first name, expertise and experience are made publically available.
  • Address data, email address, IP number and log data cannot be viewed online and can be edited only by the relevant appraiser/consultant him/herself and by the administrators of the website (GIZ programme on Promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Rights and Avaris & Godot).
  • The data are collected, stored and made available online so that implementing organisations and consulting firms can, as potential clients, find and contact suitable appraisers/consultants with in-depth knowledge of gender issues.
  • The legal basis for the processing is the declaration of consent.
  • The firms Avaris & Godot and HostEurope apply suitable technical and organisational measures to secure the application and the data processing systems against both unintentional and intentional falsification, destruction, loss and access by unauthorised persons.
  • The data are not forwarded to third parties.
  • Cookies are small text files stored locally in the cache of the internet browser of the visitor to the website, which we use for the duration of a session and which enable us to identify the user when logging in, select the correct menu language, and keep the website operating smoothly. Cookies can be deactivated in the browser, but this may restrict the functions of the application.
